Thousand Trails Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort in Arizona Review

Updated: Aug 16, 2021

Welcome beauties! Welcome back, or if you are new here thanks for stopping by. How are you doing today? Searching the interwebs for RV campgrounds for yourself or family? Well you came to the right place! This Thousand Trails RV campground was amazing. Superb mountain views with lots to do even during the Covid Pandemic. We went here right after Christmas in 2020, and we felt safe in the campground and around others. Everyone gave each other distance in such a big campground. To be clear, we are not Thousand Trails members, but we were still able to stay here which is pretty awesome.

I will be reviewing this campground and hopefully help you gain more information before your stay. I know it is a little unnerving picking out a campground when you don’t know the area or the campground very well. I do a lot of research before I reserve a spot. Since my family and I are full time RV’ers sometimes we are able to drive near a campground we are thinking of staying at if we are jumping from city to city in one state. We did this a lot in Arizona since we spent 4 months here. I know you might not be able to do that, so this is why I am reviewing all the campgrounds we have stayed at. I hope to share information about its location, amenities, safety, cleanliness, cost, length of stay, ease of access and services this campground provides. Always read Google reviews and look up their website too. I hope you enjoy, as always travel long, travel happy!

The Thousand Trails Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort is in a valley with mountain views all around you. We hiked up a few trails that overlooked the amazing views. There is an overlook area near the offices that had a bench to sit and soak in the views or pack a lunch for your kiddos to eat with a view too. They have a mini golf course, but make sure to bring your own golf club and balls since they did not provide those when we were there. I would call and ask if you are wondering if they provide them yet during the pandemic. There is an awesome activity center with TVs and lots of tables and seating, a pool table, ping pong table and computers for use. Other amenities within the park is a outdoor pool, playground, and dog area.

The campground is on over 300 acres for RV’s, tent camping and cabins for rental. We even saw a few tiny houses parked for long term stays. Length of stay is unlimited, we stayed for four nights, but there were a lot of long-term residents that had sheds and big propane tanks on their site. The price was $55 a night with all the amenities. This was for a pull through full hookup site with 30AMP electric post. Check out their website here for more information.

The ease of access to our site was no problem at all because it was a pull through, there were clear, big roads to maneuver around the campground. I liked the variety of sites and sections to pick from too. We did not feel like we missed out on any cool sites because there are so many to choose from when we arrived. We did get to pick out our own site, which was awesome too. Unfortunately, since the campground is in a valley, we had zero cell service. It was pretty frustrating not being able to work, but we were able to enjoy more family time and take a break from the screen.

The campground is not far from a major city, so there are plenty of grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants to choose from. Cottonwood is the nearest town. There are also a few RV stores and hardware stores to be able to grab extra things you need for your RV. It is always a good idea to know where those stores are in case of RV emergency projects. We had an experience where we lost our T handle on our black tank and had to go searching to find a new one in order to properly dump our black tanks.

Overall, it was a great spot for our family and our dog. I would rate this campground a 7/10. We felt very safe here, with lots of people around and the staff checking the campground frequently. The ease of access around the parks made driving the RV a better experience. If we had better cell connection it would have made our time there less stressful and more enjoyable overall. As always I hope the information I provided will help you make your RV campground decision a bit easier.
